Welcome to the Communities for Kids Literacy Now page. As a member of the South Okanagan-Similkameen Literacy Now Task Group we work with other community groups and agencies to promote and support literacy for people of all ages. This webpage is our space to share Literacy Now information.

Phase I of the project included an application to establish a South Okanagan-Similkameen Literacy Now initiative in the region. Phase II of the project included a study to determine the literacy needs of the region, culminating in a report called "Weaving a Tapestry of Stories: A Community Literacy Plan for the South Okanagan Similkameen". Phase III of the project begins this summer when Caroline Pennelli, the recently hired coordinator, will begin working with the Task Group to achieve the objectives and goals of our plan.
