History of Understanding the Early Years
Understanding the Early Years (UEY) was announced in 1999 as a pilot research initiative. Funding was granted in 2000-2001 in the following five communities. They were called UEY I sites, and they concluded their projects in 2005:
- Seven UEY II sites in the following communities were added in 2002-2003, and will conclude their projects in 2006-2007.
- Twenty-one UEY III sites were added in 2005-2006, and projects in the following communities will conclude in 2008:
