About Us
The Summerland Communities for Kids (CFK) Community Table was established in May of 2006. All members of the Summerland Table volunteer their time to support the work of CFK in Summerland. Members include parents, grandparents, and representatives from;
- Glenfir School
- Summerland Montessori School
- Public Elementary Schools
- SADI (Summerland Asset Development Initiative)
- Summerland Regional Library,
- Faith Organizations
- PDCRS - Supported Child Development
- OSNS - Child Development Center
- Boys And Girls Club
- Child Care Providers
- Summerland and District Credit Union
We meet monthly to consider Summerland’s ECD needs and how to support those needs. All members of the community are welcome to join our Table and help us support young children in Summerland.

Celebrating our Successes
Fall Fair
Our first step taken into the community was at the Folk Festival on August 5th 2006. We were there to promote the importance of healthy early childhood development, and raise public awareness of our group. Parents were given information about ECD, and children had fun with art activities, bubble blowing, tattoos, and balloons.
Community Directory
Working with the Understanding the Early Years (UEY) Coordinator, Patricia Gregory, we recently completed a list of programs, services and facilities in Summerland that support young children (see the Community Directory).

Plans
We are producing a pamphlet sized directory of services and programs that support young children. This will be freely distributed to parents, for use as a quick guide to services and activities for children.
